Creative Silence: Communicating the way to the world.
"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
Viktor Frankl.
Between the noise created by modernity and excessive technology, it seems impossible to recognize the value of human communication in those situations challenging our lives everyday. Evidently, this might be the cause: misunderstanding among husband and wife, abuse of power, domestic violence, or not enough money for gasoline this week.
Unhappiness has come to our lifestyles because we have forgotten the meaning of silence. We want to live and we want to have so many things at the same time that at the end, all we have is an empty trolley moving along with us around the mall. We become lonely hearts without a story.
The practice of silence is the only antidote to cure a life, to introduce patience. Silence to recognize who I am, who we are. Silence to build a vision and identify my responsibility with other persons... Silence to communicate the way to the world.
Silence is a universal language and helps us to discover that we want to be happy, we want to be better persons, and we want to be loved. The same creative silence will lead our thoughts and our behavior challenging our internal noise and empty lives to take action and communicate our responsible understanding to the world.
One of my favorite stories says: I want you to listen, please don’t judge me. I want your opinion, please don’t tell me what to do. I want you to trust in me, please don’t push me. I want your help, please don’t decide for me. I want you to take care of me, please don’t abuse me. I want you to look at me, please don’t stereotype me. I want your protection, please don’t lie to me. I want you to come close to me, please don’t invade me. I want you to know me, accept me and please don’t try to change me. Today, I want you to know, that you can count on me…
When we don’t know what to do; and the noise makes it impossible to recognize who we are, we need silence. We have the option to change our behavior and challenge our destiny. We have the gift of silence to communicate the way to the world. Silence is magic!
